Chili

Chris’ Chili

1 lb lean hamburger
2 T peanut oil
1 large yellow onion, peeled & chopped
3 (or so) cloves of garlic
2 T McCormick Texas Chili powder
2 T McCormick Hot Mexican chili powder
1 T Worcestershire sauce (optional)
1 lb black beans, soaked as per package and drained
1 can red kidney beans, drained
1 28oz can pureed tomato
1 can whole berry cranberry sauce

Brown the beef in the oil along with chili powder, onion and garlic. When meat is brown and onion clear, drain excess fat (there shouldn’t be a lot) and add the rest of the ingredients except cranberry sauce.

Cook for at least an hour and a half. About 20 minutes before completion, add cranberry sauce and stir until combined.
