Service Plans

We have a service plan for our furnace and air conditioner with a local company. It is sort of like health insurance. We pay about $23/month and for that we get two checkups each year and preventive maintenance. Turns out we also get free repairs. Today that saved me from having to write a $730 check to replace the circuit board in the furnace. Sure, over the next two years the company will make their money off of us when nothing goes wrong with the system, but today I don’t care about that.
