Estoy en Managua, Nicaragua, y hace calor y hace lluviendo. And I’ve just run out of Spanish.
We had a real early start this morning. I had to be at the airport by 6:00am for a 7:30 flight to Miami, so that meant getting up and out of bed a bit before 5:00am. I had packed almost everything last night, so no time was lost with that. I just needed enough time to shower, get dressed, get COFFEE and get going.
I’m still marveling at just how close Central America is. I don’t think my flights combined were much more than 5 hours. That’s so easy compared to Malawi!
The main challenge now is food and rest before starting things up tomorrow. I’ve got an 8:30 meeting with the Mission Director and then begins 3 days of training and such. I’m thinking it’ll be hotel food tonight and then I’ll get some recommendations from the Mission staff for tomorrow. If I want to punt I’ve got an Italian Trattoria up the road, as well as any number of fast food places that would be familiar to anyone from my neck of the woods.
