Oh yeah, I’m back

September 30th, 2004

I dodged hurricane Jeanne three times, but I’m back from the Dominican Republic. My presentations went well and were well recieved. As hoped, I made some good contacts and had some good conversations with folks in different offices of USAID.

In La Republica Dominica

September 21st, 2004

I made it without any difficult on Monday to the Dominican Republic. The workshops are already in full swing, and there have been lots of ideas floating around – tonight I’m going to try to pull some of them together to alter my presentations a bit. I want to get some creativity and innovation going with my groups, but at the same time I know I have to stick to my original topics. It’ll take some thinking, but it can be done.

Things here are hot and pretty muggy. Each afternoon we get a nice rain storm. I haven’t had a chance to go to the beach or the pool yet, but I’ll be sure to do that before the week is out.

Flying out

September 17th, 2004

Monday morning I’m on the road to the Dominican Republic for an Education and Training conference. Tropical Storm Jeanne just whipped through the part of the island where I’ll be, so I who knows what will be left when I get there?
