Socked In

Wow! We have a _lot_ of snow on the ground.

At one point yesterday, the National Weather Service had this to say:

bq. LAST NIGHT IN MY DSCN I USED THE WORD “WOW” TO DESCRIBE THE UPCOMING STORM. NOW…WHAT TO SAY? I’M A NEW ENGLANDER WHO REMEMBERS THE BLIZZARD OF ’78 (1-3 FT – THE ROOF OF THE HARTFORD CIVIC CENTER COLLAPSED – JUST A FEW HRS AFTR 10,000 PEOPLE HAD BEEN INSIDE)…THE “STORM OF THE CENTURY” IN ’93…THE STORM HERE IN ’96. THIS ONE SEEMS THE MOST IMPRESSIVE TO ME.

It really is something to see. We had 12″ on the ground by 4:00 yesterday afternoon and it kept snowing all night. I haven’t stepped out to measure yet today, but It is going to be a lot.

This is a photo of the table on our patio. +I took a core sample near the center of the table and measured it to 16.5 inches.+ All of that is new snow as of Sunday morning.
