Wet Summer

From the June 8 Washington Post:

bq. Much of the Washington region spent yesterday in fear of flooding as heavy rain — about two inches in many spots…

bq. The London-like weather has become too familiar in the Washington region this spring. Seven of the past eight Saturdays have been rainy, cooler than normal or, almost always, both. Before you blame some bizarre weekend curse, however, hear out John Dlugoenski, an AccuWeather meteorologist.

bq. “Two rainy days, two days of okay weather — it’s just a cyclical pattern, and it continues. Every Saturday it seems to rain. You could probably say it rained every Wednesday as well.”

bq. Yes, according to AccuWeather data, seven of the past eight Wednesdays were lousy.
